Alice is so much more, than just AI Assistant — it’s an AI Automation tool, that can save you tons of time by triggering your automations, interacting with your apps and helping in your day to day work. Here’s a few tips for a start, to get the most of Alice from day one.

Make sure you can access the latest models

Alice comes with some free credits you can use. But to access best models, you either have to:

You don’t need ChatGPT or any other subscription. You can use all of the models for one fixed price, or connect your keys and pay for usage — that is far more cheaper, than having all those subscriptions.

Install assistant from the Library

Press ⌘K and navigate to Library. Then install one of our built-in assistants. Once you install the assistant you like, try interacting with him, and access Skills that he’s equipped with. Just press / key in the message window, and select one of the Skills.

If you want to learn more about the Assistant or Skill, click on the Assistant avatar in the middle of the app after starting new chat, or simply ask a question like “how do you work?”.

We’re currently building a marketplace of hundreds of assistants that will be available for you shortly!

Access the internet

Let Alice access the newest information and browse websites for you. All you need to do is to get a free Firecrawl API key from this website, and plug it in to Settings (⌘,)

Once you’re done, you can access Internet in any conversation, by pressing ⌘o and switching to web browsing mode.

Create a Skill and assign keyboard shortcut

Build your first skill now. Press ⌘k and Navigate to Skills → Add new skill. Now enter:

  • Name: Text fixer

  • Description: Fix grammar and spelling of any text

  • Select all of your Assistants

  • Select category → Create new (Copywriting) and assign

  • Scroll to System Prompt and paste:

  • Turn on “Copy responses to clipboard”

  • Scroll to global shortcut and add ⌘⇧F shortcut (or any you prefer)

  • Click on Create skill

Now, leave Alice running in the background and select some text from some other app. This might be a portion of email or just anything you want.

  • Press ⌘c to copy it to clipboard

  • Now press the shortcut you applied to a Skill (⌘⇧F)

  • Wait a bit or observe Alice as she works on the text

  • After few seconds, press ⌘v to paste the corrected text anywhere you like

This is the power of a native app, and saving prompts as Skills! Congrats 👏

Spin up image generation

We are using great models from Replicate like imagen-3 to generate images, and are currently implementing new GPT-4o image mode. Go to settings (⌘,) and plug in your Replicate API key, generated here. Then tap ⌘i in any conversation to switch to image generation mode.

Enable Voice

Go to Settings (⌘,) and navigate to Audio settings. Select your Audio input device and Escape into the new conversation. Click on the microphone icon and start talking, click again once you’ve finished. You can do the same by pressing ⌘⇧L to start and end listening.

Once Alice gives you the reply, you can also click on the play button after hovering over the message so that she can read it aloud. You can customize the language and voice in Assistant’s settings.

That’s a wrap for now! But there’s so much more to Explore in Alice and believe me, the best stuff, like Remote Actions is yet to come — stay tuned for more.
